Flora Yukhnovich “Bacchanalia” at Hauser & Wirth Downtown Los Angeles, October 30, 2025 – January 25, 2026
Drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of art history, British artist Flora Yukhnovich weaves a captivating dialogue between the past and present in her paintings. From the opulence of French rococo to the grandeur of Italian baroque and even the bold strokes of abstract expressionism, Yukhnovich’s work dives deep into themes of materiality and artistic process.
In her debut solo exhibition in Los Angeles at Hauser & Wirth, she unveils a stunning new series of canvases inspired by the vibrant spirit of Bacchanalia. Through her lush, swirling brushstrokes, Yukhnovich masterfully captures the exhilarating energy and corporeal intensity of both ancient and modern hedonism, while also probing the relentless excesses of consumer culture.
Accompanying this visually striking exhibition is a beautifully crafted catalogue that features a compelling collection of Yukhnovich’s illustrations alongside insightful text by curator Eleanor Nairne.
