On Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, visitors can attend this free event at the Museum. Adam Fu: From California’s Golden Era to Global Neon Luminary

Adam Fu’s artistic journey began in 1992 in San Francisco, where he was inspired by classmates at the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. Initially involved in graffiti culture through marker tagging, he quickly advanced to larger spray paint murals. Mentored by graffiti legends Jase and Neon, he joined the BA crew and collaborated with influential artists.

From 1994 to 1999, during the golden era of California graffiti, he made significant contributions to the scene. After personal losses, he moved to New York City in 2001, earning a Bachelor’s degree and an MFA in Product Design. Following a hiatus post-9/11, he returned to public art in 2007 in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood. Since the 2016 elections, he has embraced a distinct neon style to address social issues and advocate for community engagement.

Today, Adam Fu’s neon art has gained global recognition, powerfully highlighting marginalized communities and fostering awareness of critical societal challenges. This enriching event is part of Monster Energy’s monthly programming series at the Museum of Graffiti, dedicated to showcasing diverse artistic and cultural perspectives.

Guests will meet Adam Fu during the poster signing session. He’ll also have his new limited-edition t-shirt, available for sale exclusively at the Museum of Graffiti during the event. Registration is requested.
