Black Heart Gallery is hosting a solo exhibition by artist Bell Luna Powers. Known for blending film photography, poetry, and alternative processes, Powers’ latest showcase delves into themes of memory’s impermanence, existentialism, and the fluidity of relationships. The exhibition opens Friday, March 7, with an evening reception from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Bell Luna Powers, More Than a Photographer
Originally from Northern New Jersey, Bell Luna Powers has steadily built a reputation for crafting evocative, textural works that push the boundaries of traditional photography. Her innovative approach transforms moments into unending impressions through experimental darkroom techniques, poetic narratives, and unconventional image-making methods. Her work often asks: How do we recall the past? What do we hold onto, and what inevitably fades? These questions resonate throughout her compositions, which feel both intimate and universal.

A graduate of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Powers holds a BFA in Photography with a minor in Art History. Her artistic philosophy is rooted in capturing the subtle, often unnoticed beauty of everyday life—whether it’s a quiet glance, the soft blur of movement, or a tangible sense of nostalgia embedded in an image.
Through her intricate layering of photography and poetic fragments, she challenges you to consider how memory functions in both its clarity and distortion.

Black Heart Gallery
The choice of Black Heart Gallery, an unconventional art space that merges tattoo artistry and contemporary visual exhibitions, serves as a fitting backdrop for Powers’ work. The venue’s ethos—one that champions diverse artistic expressions and boundary-pushing creativity—aligns with her approach. By presenting her work in a space that embraces permanence and ephemerality, the exhibition becomes an immersive experience, reinforcing her exploration of the fluidity of memory and artistic expression.
Bell Luna Powers at Black Heart Gallery invites you to examine works that speak to the transient nature of human experience. Meet the artist at the opening reception on March 7 and experience her latest works firsthand. The show will remain on view at Black Heart Gallery (305 W. Main Street in Lansdale, PA) until March 28.
